Food Review: Carmel Apple Frosty Parfait (Wendy’s)

After being inspired by reading GrubGrade and some prodding from friends, I've decided to post occasional food reviews. So here is my first review...

I stopped by Wendy's for dinner and I was about to order a small vanilla frosty when I noticed their fairly new Frosty Parfaits. I chose the Carmel Apple parfait, over the Oreo or Wild Berry parfaits.

The cup starts off with a little caramel swirl and is then filled with vanilla frosty. Topping it off are red and green apple chucks, brown sugar granola, and some extra caramel. The apples tasted very fresh and were crisp and flavorful. The granola and caramel meshed together very well and everything complimented itself and the frosty.

I made a mistake in not mixing the item immediately, but it was so filled to the top it would have been difficult. And herein lies my only complaint, there weren't enough toppings and they weren't dispersed through the item that well. I would have liked to have seen a apples at the bottom and apples at the top, or frosty-fruit-frosty, and a little but more oatmeal and apple slices. The frosty to topping ration was a bit high.

Still, the flavors of the topping were great, and when you got a nice apple piece, some oatmeal, and a healthy scoop of frosty, it was magical.

Priced at $1.79, it comes in one size, which some may find small, but I found it to be just big enough to satisfy.

I am going to use a 7 start rating system, which will consist of... only 5 stars...
0: No stars, horrible, don't get it, don't even give it to the dog.
1: Very bad, major problems, don't know how the test kitchen thought this would sell.
2: Bad, some problems but they're big enough to avoid this, someone must enjoy this, but I sure don't.
3: Acceptable, it may have some problems, but I would might eat it if it I was in the mood, and then be disappointed.
4: Good, a few problems here and there, but nothing major.
5: Very Good, an item to order regularly, something you'll get cravings for.
6: Perfect, the Holy Grail, absolutely nothing wrong and I would not be upset if I had to eat it and only it for the rest of my life.

So you'll see 1-5 stars once I make an icon for it, and you'll probably never see 0 or 6, and it won't be represented by stars.

So for this parfait.... 4 stars. Pump up the toppings ratio, and this is an easy 5.
